Former President of the United States, George Herbert Walker Bush, 90, was taken to the Houston Methodist Hospital, Texas due to the shortness of breath, Jim McGrath, the president’s spokesperson said Thursday.

“41 [President of the United States] taken to the @MethodistHosp as precaution after experiencing a shortness of breath tonight. Will be held for observation as a precaution,” Jim McGrath said on Twitter.
Bush “will be held for observation, again as a precaution,” McGrath said in a statement, as quoted by media.
White House spokesperson Eric Schultz said that Barack Obama has already been informed of Bush’s current condition.
“The President has been made aware that President Bush was admitted to the hospital. President Obama and the First Lady send their good wishes to the former President and the entire Bush family during this holiday season,” Schultz said in a statement, as quoted by news outlets.
Bush is the 41st president of the United States serving from 1989 to 1993. Bush has had heart problems since he was a president and currently moves in a wheelchair. In January 2013 Bush spent almost two months in hospital for bronchitis and other health issues.
