(AA) – Besiktas hit SAI Kayseri Erciyesspor 5-1 in Spor Toto Super League match in Ankara and came out on top of the league on Sunday.

Besiktas cruised past their opponents thanks to the goals scored by Turkish winger Gokhan Tore, Senegalese striker Demba Ba from penalty, Turkish attacking midfielder Olcay Sahan, his fellow citizen playing as striker Mustafa Pektemek and Brazilian left-back Ramon Motta. 

Visitors SAI Kayseri Erciyesspor’s single goal was scored by their Dutch attacking midfielder Royston Drenthe.

The victory at Osmanli Stadium comes as motivation before the Black Eagles go against Club Brugge in UEFA Europa League on Thursday in Turkey in revenge for a 2-1 loss. 

In the league at home, Besiktas raise their points to 54 in standings, taking the number one spot. They are followed by Galatasaray having 52 points as of matchday 24.

Another title contender Fenerbahce will play away to Genclerbirligi in capital Ankara on Sunday. The game will kick off at 20:00 local time (1800 GMT). Fenerbahce have collected 50 points so far.
