(AA) – Wolfsburg won against Werder Bremen 5-3 in a German top division Bundesliga game played at Weserstadion, Bremen on Sunday.

Second-place Wolfsburg’s Dutch striker Bas Dost and German-Italian midfielder Daniel Caligiuri scored two goals each against Bremen.

Leaders Bayern Munich eased past Koln 4-1 at Allianz Arena, Munich in the opening match of the week on Friday night. Bavarian giants won the match thanks to the goals scored by German midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, French winger Franck Ribery, Dutch winger Arjen Robben and Polish striker Robert Lewandowski.

Having 58 points in the league table, Bayern Munich are eight points clear of their closest opponents Wolfsburg.

Borussia Dortmund toppled archrivals Schalke 3-0 in the ‘Ruhr derby’ at Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund on Saturday. Home team Dortmund’s players, Gabonese forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and German star Marco Reus brought the victory by finding the net against Schalke.

Borussia Dortmund climbed to 10th position in the table meanwhile Schalke are in fifth place in standings.
