(AA) – French central midfielder Paul Pogba, who plays for Italian Serie A title contenders Juventus, will be out of action for up to a month and a half due to torn thigh muscle.
Juventus stated on their website Thursday night that Pogba – having had MRI scans – had sustained a “grade two myotendinous junction tear of his biceps femoris.”
Pogba had to leave the pitch in the 27th minute in the Champions League game against Borussia Dortmund in Germany on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old box-to-box midfielder scored nine goals in 34 appearances this season. He also had six assists.
Juventus qualified for the quarterfinals in Champions League by eliminating German club Borussia Dortmund 5-1 on aggregate.
