(AA) – Real Madrid barred a number of fans from all activities of the club after an attack on the cars of players at the club’s training premises, following their team’s loss against Barcelona in “El Clasico.”
The fans attacked and insulted the players and technical staff, including manager Carlo Ancelotti, after they returned to the club’s facilities in Valdebebas.
Real Madrid issued a written statement about the incident Monday night, saying it identified the assailants and one of them is a club member.
It is reported that the attacker has been referred to a disciplinary committee. The club also banned the fan from entering Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and all club premises.
In addition, Real Madrid filed a criminal complaint against a number of spectators.
Internet video footage reportedly showed a few Real Madrid fans insulting the players and damaging their cars outside club facilities.
