(AA) – A Japanese court has dismissed a local residents’ demand for an injunction to stop the restart of two reactors at a nuclear power plant.

Kyodo news agency reported Wednesday that the case against the plant in the southwestern prefecture of Kagoshima was the second such demand against Kansai Electric Power Co. in April.

Earlier this month, the company was told not to restart two reactors at its Takahama nuclear power plant in western Japan.

Kansai plans to restart the Kagoshima reactors in July.

Japan’s 48 commercial reactors are currently offline amid heightened safety concerns.
