(AA) – Anadolu Efes lost against Spain’s Real Madrid 80-71 in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague quarter final match up at Barclaycard Center Wednesday night, falling behind 1-0 in the quarter final playoff series.

Anadolu Efes were two points behind Real Madrid in the first quarter, but the Turkish club managed to come back in the second quarter and was up 43-35.

Real Madrid took the lead back in the third quarter by outscoring Anadolu Efes 26 to 10.

In the final quarter, the Spanish giants took advantage of Anadolu Efes’ turnovers and finished the game 80-71.

Real Madrid’s K.C. Rivers was the game’s top scorer with 21 points. Rivers scored six of seven three-point-shots. Meanwhile, Anadolu Efes’ Croatian forward Dario Saric scored 13 points.

The next match of the series will be played on April 17 in Madrid.

Playoffs are played in a best-of-five series.

The team that wins three games out of five will qualify for the Final Four, which will take place in Madrid on May 15-17.
