(AA) – A young Palestinian man on Tuesday succumbed to wounds he has sustained during clashes with Israeli forces the night before in the West Bank city of Jenin, a medical source has said.

Mohamed Yahia was hospitalized Monday night with a gunshot wound before succumbing to his injury, the source, who works at Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, told The Anadolu Agency.

Eyewitnesses have told AA that the young man sustained a serious injury during confrontations with Israeli troops near the separation wall in Al-Arqa town.

Violent clashes have erupted between Palestinians and Israeli troops in the occupied West Bank in recent days, leaving at least two Palestinians dead.

Recent months have seen an uptick in violence in Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories that have left several deaths and injuries – on both sides – in their wake.

Several Israelis have been killed or wounded amid a rise in Palestinian attacks on Israelis.

Israeli forces, meanwhile, have continued their attacks on Palestinians and their land in the occupied territories, leaving a number of dead and wounded.
