(AA) – French club Paris Saint-Germain’s Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been suspended for four matches because of remarks made against officials after a game.

French Football Federation Discipline Committee stated on Friday that Ibrahimovic will be not be allowed to play in four league matches due to his remarks aimed at the referee Lionel Jaffredo after the league game against Bordeaux that PSG lost 3-2 on March 15.

Ibrahimovic’s outburst was caught on camera when he addressed the referee locker room, saying: “F–ing wake up — we’re not playing in the amateurs. Wake up! I have never seen that in 15 years in my career, such a referee in this s— country.”

“You don’t even deserve PSG to be in this country,” Ibrahimovic continued.

After the reactions, Ibrahimovic defended himself by saying that he had not meant to target France and French people.

The Ligue 1 star striker will be missing his team’s league matches against Nice, Lille, Metz and Nantes. He will be back for the last three weeks of the league.

Meanwhile Ibrahimovic will be able to play for the “Coupe de la Ligue” final (French League Cup) against Bastia on Saturday at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored 26 goals in 32 appearances for PSG this season.

Scoring a hat trick in the French Cup semifinal against Saint-Etienne on Wednesday, the 33-year-old has tallied 102 goals for Paris Saint-Germain so far.
