(AA) – Swedish football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic has applied for a long-term visa for the U.S., revealed a Swedish newspaper Tuesday.
Aftonbladet said that the Paris Saint-Germain striker made the application on March 19 in the U.S. embassy in Paris, fueling speculation that he will join a Major League Soccer (MLS) club as Ibrahimovic does not need a visa for a tourist trip to the United States.
Ibrahimovic’s agent Mino Raiola confirmed the player’s visa application to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo. However, he did not say whether the Swedish international had come to terms with an MLS team or not.
The 33-year-old player’s contract at French league club Paris Saint-Germain expires summer of 2016
