(AA) – An Israeli cabinet spokesman warned Saturday against a plan to launch attacks against Israeli and Jewish targets in Tunisia.

Ofir Gendelman warned Israeli citizens on Twitter against travelling to the North African state.

The Anadolu Agency could not immediately obtain comments from the Tunisian government on the Israeli warning.

Nevertheless, the warning coincides with the arrival of a large number of Israeli nationals in the southeastern Tunisian island of Djerba for the Lag Boamer holiday.

In mid-March, masked militants attacked the national museum in Tunisian capital Tunis, killing 24 people, including 21 foreign tourists.

A branch of the militant Daesh organization claimed responsibility for the attack.
