Bayern Munich warn Real Madrid they do not need to sell their best players like Robert Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski

Robert Lewandowski will “100 per cent” be a Bayern Munichplayer next season, despite Real Madrid interest, insists chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

Real are looking to rejuvenate their misfiring attack who had struggled in the first half of this season and they want Lewandowski to become the first attacking big-name signing since Gareth Bale arrived in a then world record fee.

Neymar and Lewandowski are willing to sell off the likes of Toni Kroos, Raphael Varane and Luka Modric to fund it.

However Rummenigge has publically reminded Real that Bayern have shown before they don’t need to sell their best players, regardless of the money on offer.

“I always like to remember 2008, when we had an amazing offer from Chelsea for Franck Ribery,” Rummenigge told Kicker. “From that day on, the whole football world knew: nobody can buy a Bayern Munich player against Bayern Munich’s will.“I want to assume that Robert is 100 per cent going to play for Bayern next season.”
