Three Iranian border guards were killed in clashes with militants in western Iran near border with Pakistan, according to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).Â
The clashes took place late Monday in Mirjaveh, a town in Sistan and Baluchestan Province near the Pakistani border when a group of militants attempted to sneak into Iranian territory, the IRGC said in a statement on Tuesday.Â
Three militants were killed during the clashes while others escaped into Pakistan, the statement said.Â
