Shooting Stars Sports Club captain Taofeek Malomo has joined Albanian club FK Bylis on a free transfer, signing a two-year contract with the Abissnet Superiore campaigners, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The midfielder, whose contract with 3SC expired after the 2023/24 Nigeria Premier Football League season, will play under the tutelage of Ndubuisi Egbo, the former Nigeria goalkeeper who also joined the club this summer.
Malomo will be joined in the Albanian top flight by Daniel Wotlai, who recently signed with FK Engatia from Abia Warriors.
Bylis gained promotion to the Superliga after finishing second in the Kategoria e Par, the country’s second tier, in the 2023/24 season. They will open their campaign with a trip to Teuta Durrës on August 18 starting at 19:00 at Stadiumi Niko Dovana, with Taofeek most likely watching in the stands. He will likely feature in their matchday 2 home game against FC Dinamo City at Adush Muça Stadium, Ballsh, on August 24.
The star midfielder, who has represented Nigeria at the U23 level, will be looking to make history with Egbo, who became the first-ever Nigerian coach to lead a European team to a league title after guiding FK Tirana to the Albanian league title in 2019/2020, qualifying the team for the Uefa Champions League.
