Tropical Storm Idalia was quickly intensifying Sunday night on its way to entering the record-warm Gulf of Mexico where forecasters predict it will become a formidable hurricane and strike Florida’s Gulf Coast. The storm is projected to come ashore between Tampa Bay and Panama City between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning as a hurricane.
