The Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Delta State Command, has confirmed the release of its kidnapped officers.

PUNCH Metro had reported that the NDLEA officers were abducted on Thursday night some distances away from the head office of the agency located off the Isah-Ogwashi-Uku Road, Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State.

The officers were kidnapped by the hoodlums who laid ambush for them at the close of work at around 8:00 pm on the fateful.

However, the spokesperson for the state command, Mr John Kennedy, who confirmed the release on Monday in Asaba, disclosed to our correspondent that the officers were released on Sunday night after much pressure from the agency and other sister agencies.

He said, “I want to confirm the release of our officers, they were released on Sunday night after much pressure from the agency and other sister agencies.

“The senior officer was not abducted along with his orderly as it was reported, the senior officer was abducted and another officer was abducted in another location entirely.”

While applauding other sister agencies for their efforts that resulted in the release of the officers, the NDLEA spokesperson was silent about whether or not ransoms were paid for their freedom.
