Former Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa returned from injury with a match-winning goal as Kano Pillars earned their first victory of the season, while Enyimba climbed to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table after an impressive away win.

Back in action after two weeks out, Musa scored the only goal on 65 minutes to hand Pillars a 1–0 win over Rangers in Kano. The 32-year-old, who also serves as the club’s General Manager, showed pace and composure as he finished off a brilliant solo run. Earlier, veteran midfielder Rabiu Ali missed a penalty and struck the rebound over after Mubarak Sani was fouled in the box.

For Rangers, it was another disappointing outing on the road. Despite their home win against Plateau United last week, they are still without an away goal this season.

In Port Harcourt, Rivers United defeated Shooting Stars 1–0 thanks to a 72nd-minute strike from Ubong Friday, who has now scored in back-to-back home games. The win keeps Finidi George’s men unbeaten and lifts them to second place, while Shooting Stars remain bottom of the table with no win in four games.

In Jos, Plateau United recorded their first victory of the season by beating defending champions Remo Stars 2–0. Tarabina Biweribo’s header broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute before Mafeng Pam added a second late on.

Enyimba maintained their strong start with a 2–0 win away to Bayelsa United in Yenagoa. Chidera Michael and Kalu Nweke scored the goals as the nine-time champions stayed unbeaten and are yet to concede this season. With eight points from four games, they now sit top of the table.

Elsewhere, Abia Warriors edged Katsina United 1–0 in Umuahia with a goal from defender Somiari Alalibo, while Nasarawa United secured a 1–0 home win over Wikki Tourist. Warri Wolves and Kwara United played out a goalless draw, and Kun Khalifat beat El Kanemi Warriors 3–1.
