Ahead of the November 25, 2025 governorship election in Anambra State, the All Progressives Congress, on Monday, announced that aspirants seeking to run on the party’s platform must pay N50m to obtain the nomination and expression of interest forms.

The party also released a detailed primary election timetable, outlining key activities and dates leading up to the poll.

According to the schedule, signed by National Organising Secretary Suleiman Argungu, female aspirants and persons living with disabilities will only be required to purchase the expression of interest form for N10m, while the nomination form will be given to them free of charge.

Additionally, young politicians aged 25 to 40 years who wish to contest will receive a 50% discount on the nomination form, but they must still pay for the expression of interest form.

Argungu stated that all interested aspirants must visit the APC national headquarters in Wuse II, Abuja, between February 10 and 25 to purchase their forms.

He explained that in compliance with the relevant sections of the Nigerian Constitution and the Electoral Act, the APC had released its Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the November 8, 2025, governorship election as published by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

According to the timetable, the sale of nomination, expression of interest, and delegate forms will run from February 10 to 25, while the deadline for submission of forms is February 26.

The screening of aspirants is scheduled for March 7 and 8, with the publication of screening results expected on March 10.

The Delegates Congress will take place on April 2, followed by the primary election on April 5. Ratification of the primary election results is set for April 6, and the list of nominated candidates will be submitted to the National Working Committee on April 8.

The official commencement of the APC campaign is scheduled for June 11, while the final day of campaigning and grand finale will be on November 6.

The APC primary election is expected to be highly competitive, with several aspirants already expressing interest in contesting for the party’s ticket.

The N50m fee has sparked debates among party faithful, with some arguing that it may limit the participation of grassroots politicians.

With INEC setting November 8, 2025, as the official date for the Anambra governorship election, the APC is gearing up for an intense campaign season in the southeastern state.
