The Football Association has confirmed that Arsenal defender Myles Lewis-Skelly will no longer serve a three-match suspension following his controversial red card against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, January 25, 2025.

In a late Tuesday statement released, the FA announced that an independent Regulatory Commission upheld Arsenal’s claim of wrongful dismissal.

Lewis-Skelly had been sent off for alleged serious foul play during the Premier League clash, but the commission’s decision clears him of any wrongdoing.

Also, a Tuesday statement from the club and website titled, “FA statement on Myles Lewis-Skelly red card,” revealed this.

This ruling comes as a relief for Arsenal, who were set to lose the young and utility player for crucial upcoming fixtures.

With his suspension overturned, Lewis-Skelly is now eligible to return to action immediately.

It read, “The Football Association have released the following statement:

“An independent Regulatory Commission has upheld a claim of wrongful dismissal in relation to Myles Lewis-Skelly and removed his three-match suspension.

“The Arsenal player was sent off for serious foul play during their Premier League fixture against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, January 25, 2025.”

PUNCH Online reports that the incident had sparked heated debates among fans and pundits, with many questioning the initial decision.

The FA’s statement marks a significant reversal, reaffirming the importance of the review process in ensuring fair play.

The English player will now be available for Arsenal’s next home game against Manchester City, away clash at Leicester City before hosting West Ham at the Emirates, all in February.
