The Association of University of Liberia Alumni in Nigeria and Diaspora has elected new executive officers.

A statement signed by ASULAND’s Social Secretary, Benjamin Osibodu, noted the appointment of Mr Kola Abdul as President, Mr Israel Okujagu as Vice President, and Mr Taiwo Awoniyi, was elected as the General Secretary.

Others include Mr Tammy Amadi as Assistant General Secretary; Mrs Tokunbo Harry as the Financial Secretary; Benjamin Osibodu as Social Secretary; the Vice Chairman Mr Joseph Ojo; and Mrs Priscilla Jobi as Treasurer amongst others.

It noted that the newly appointed president, Abdul graduated in 1983. He read Business Administration and Accounting.

He was the former Chairman of CIBN, Lagos State Branch retired as MD/CEO of Brent Mortgage Bank Ltd in Jan. 2023 after 39 years in Banking.

Abdul is currently, Special Assistant to Founder and BOT Secretary of Aletheia University, Ago-Iwoye.

Okujagu, the newly elected Vice President graduated in 1987. He read Business & Public Administration and retired from Coca-Cola.

He is now a Business Consultant and resident in Monrovia, Liberia.

According to the statement, Awoniyi was elected as the General Secretary, read Political Science and Economics and recently retired from the National Commission for Museums and Monuments, Lagos.

Amadi, the new Assistant General Secretary, read Business & Public Administration. He works for Century Group and resident in Nigeria, while Jobi, was elected as the association’s Treasurer. She read Political Science and Mass Communication.

Harry, who was elected as the Association’s Financial Secretary, read Accounting and Economics.

Meanwhile, Osibodu who was appointed the Social Secretary, read Accounting.

According to the statement, members of the Board of Trustees include the Chairman, Col. Michael Ogunsemi, Rtd.

Ogunsemi read Political Science. He was commissioned into the Nigerian Army as a Lieutenant in 1978. He served in ECOMOG Ops from 1990 to 1992 and United Nations Ops in Bosnia and Hesgovinia (former Yugoslavia) from 1992 to 1993.

Also, Ojo, the newly elected Vice Chairman worked as an Educationist with the Lagos State Government and retired in 2010.

Other members include Mr Babatunde Ogundare, Mr Samuel Kayode Olanipekun, and Pastor Africanus Epelle.

Fundraising committee members of the association include Mr John Okonmah as Chairman and Pastor Taiwo Oshonisi as Vice Chairman.

Other members are Mr Kenneth Salako and Hon. Akinwale O.  Lawanson. The secretary is Dr Barbara Guobadia.

In membership Drive Committee has Ven. Dr A. Adebiyi is Chairman while Eugene Ogaga is the Vice Chairman. Other members include Mrs Mopelola Adeola, nee Jagun and Mr Adeola Ajani.
