Atalanta coach Ivan Juric has said he will reintroduce Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman carefully after his return to the team.
The 27-year-old made his first appearance of the season last week, coming on for the final minutes in Atalanta’s 3-0 win over Torino. It was his first game since 25 May against Parma.
Juric explained that Lookman is still working on his fitness and must be managed properly to avoid injury.
“After a period of work apart, we must find the best conditions,” Juric told Tutto Atalanta. “He is training well, and we will increase his minutes gradually until he is back to full strength.”
The Nigerian forward had missed pre-season after trying to force a move to Inter Milan in the summer. He later returned to Atalanta and was reinstated to first-team training after the international break.
Juric confirmed Lookman will not be rushed, as the club want him in top shape for the rest of the campaign.
