The BAMA mayonnaise has partnered with Chess in Slums Africa to give children an exciting Children’s Day Celebration and empower them intellectually.
The event took place at the Glover Memorial Hall, Lagos Island.
The children gathered for a day filled with chess tournaments, cooking demos on making good sandwiches, and interactive activities – all designed to empower them through the power of play and good nutrition.
BAMA is a mayonnaise brand known for its creamy texture and delicious taste.
A statement by BAMA said it was committed to nourishing families, BAMA has a long history of supporting initiatives that prioritise the well-being of children.
The Marketing Director at GBFoods, Oreoluwa Atinmo, said, “BAMA is a core part of childhood nutrition and in partnership with Chess in Slums Africa we are recreating nostalgic moments, building beautiful memories, and nourishing young talents while fostering their cognitive development through the game of chess. We are excited about this collaboration and keenly looking forward to all we can do together to empower our future talents.”
The founder of Chess in Slums Africa, Tunde Onakoya, said, “Today is a good day as any to celebrate kids around the world and for us at CISA, it’s a more special day to celebrate with these kids and have them show their budding skills in chess. Some of the kids are exceptionally gifted but can’t go on to do great things due to their circumstances.
However, we are changing that narrative and with the support and collaboration from brands like BAMA, we are working towards a better future for each of these kids. This partnership has been incredibly valuable, and we look forward to continuing our work together in the years to come.
Chess in Slums Africa is committed to uplifting children from underserved communities through innovative educational programs. CISA firmly believes in the transformative potential of chess as a key learning tool that can unlock the boundless potential of youth living in urban slums.
