 (AA) – Suspected Boko Haram militants on Saturday staged an attack on Nigeria’s northeastern Dindikowa town.
Riding several Hilux vans, insurgents reportedly arrived in the town as early as 7am and started shooting.
“I was on my way to town when the problem started and I went back home,” Saidu Umar, a local resident, told The Anadolu Agency.
“Right now, we are hearing gunshots and noise of explosion around the town. We don’t really know if there are casualties but we know there is serious problem because Boko Haram has invaded the town so people should pray for us for safety.”
AA could not reach police spokesman Gombe Fwaje Atajiri for a comment.
