A former Big Brother Naija (Shine Ya Eye) housemate, Adeolu Okusaga, aka Saga, says breaking into Nollywood as a reality TV star is tough.
He told Saturday Beats, “I have acted in a few movies. It was tough breaking into Nollywood because most Nollywood practitioners don’t want us to feel like because we went to Big Brother’s House, we are entitled to these things. So, one has to earn it somehow. It may be a little bit difficult, but eventually one will get there little by little.”
Speaking on the impact his late mother had on him, he said, “My mum always did charity and it used to exhaust me as a kid. She used to drag me along for the ones she did in the church and personal ones too. So, I want to also have that kind of impact on my generation.”
According to Saga, one’s upbringing reflects on how one perceives life, stating, “One’s upbringing plays a big role in how one perceives life when one grows up. Kids should be taught to have empathy, to be kind, and to share so that they understand that life is not all about them. If other people do not have up to what one has, it doesn’t mean they are lesser. These are key values children must receive from their parents.”
