The Committee of e-Business Industry Heads has announced plans for its 2024 annual conference, themed “Payment System Vision 2030: Navigating Contemporary Issues in Driving Future Growth.”

The event, scheduled to be held on December 4, 2024, at the Eko Convention Centre, Lagos, has garnered support from the Central Bank of Nigeria and industry stakeholders.

This was disclosed by the Chairman of CeBIH, Ajibade Laolu-Adewale, in the Victoria Island area of Lagos on Tuesday.

The Committee of e-Business Industry Heads is constituted of the upper echelon of electronic business industry practitioners in all banks in Nigeria.

Laolu-Adewale stated that the event would provide a platform to drive the Payment System Vision 2030 goals to secure an efficient and inclusive payment system.

“This conference is crucial for fostering innovation, partnerships, and inclusivity in Nigeria’s payment ecosystem. It underscores our commitment to creating a system that meets the needs of all Nigerians and positions the country as a global leader in digital payments,” he stated.

He added that the expected dignitaries at the conference include the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, and Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Akinyemi Ajigbotafe.

Laolu-Adewale noted that activities will feature panel discussions, keynote addresses, and the unveiling of CeBIH’s new website.

Last year, The PUNCH reported that payment solution company, Mastercard and the Committee of E-Banking Industry Heads for Nigeria partnered to hold the first Fraud and Cyber Security Forum in Lagos, Nigeria.
