Ekitike to Chelsea still on?

Chelsea continue to remain contenders to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike during the summer transfer window.

The Blues have already signed Liam Delap and Joao Pedro to bolster the centre-forward position, but there could be more activity.

With Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson likely to depart, the west London giants have not closed the door for another striker.

Ekitike remains a candidate for the Club World Cup champions, but a deal could be difficult to pursue due to the hefty price tag.

Frankfurt are adamant that the striker won’t be sold for less than £86 million and the onus is on the Blues to come closer to that figure.

The Blues have just won the Club World Cup against Paris Saint-Germain and the additional revenue could boost their striker pursuit.

Chelsea could be willing to pay more than the reported £50m fee they were prepared to offer to Frankfurt before the tournament last month.
