Former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has stated that the establishment of Northwest University, now known as Maitama Sule University, and Kano University of Science and Technology Wudil, now Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, are his “best and most cherished achievements as Governor of Kano State.”
Kwankwaso, who is the national leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party, stated this on Monday in Kano during the inauguration of an ultramodern auditorium named after him by Skyline University.
He said, “My best and cherished legacy while in office as Governor of Kano State was my investment in education.”
The inauguration of the auditorium was part of the activities to commemorate the 68th birthday of the NNPP national leader.
Kwankwaso, who turned 68 today (Monday), stated, “My projects, including flyovers, roads, agricultural development, and rural electrification, among others, are not my best compared to the establishment of the two universities and other educational projects.”
He commended the state governor, Abba Yusuf, for his steadfastness in adhering to the Kwankasiyya ideology, which emphasises education and human development.
In his remarks at the occasion, Yusuf expressed appreciation to the university for its plan to train 1,000 teachers in computer skills in collaboration with the state government.
He expressed the university’s readiness to continue collaborating with the state government.
