Five persons have been confirmed dead after a boat capsized along the popular Bennett Island River in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State.
PUNCH Metro gathered that 19 persons were rescued in the accident which occurred on Monday night, with six persons receiving treatment at a hospital.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Bright Edafe, who confirmed this in a statement on Tuesday in Asaba, the Delta State capital, said one person was still missing.
He said, “Boat accident along Bennett Island River in Warri South, five found dead, six persons injured and still receiving treatment
“Nineteen persons were rescued from the incident, one still missing.”
