Empower New Energy, in collaboration with Powercell Limited and Huawei Digital Power, has inaugurated a pioneering rooftop solar photovoltaic plant and battery energy storage system for Justrite Superstores.
The project, according to a statement, marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s transition to renewable energy, making Justrite Superstores the first green superstore in Nigeria and West Africa.
According to Huawei Nigeria CEO and Chairman, Chris Lu, power is the foundation of industrial and commercial development in Nigeria and renewable energy like photovoltaic has ushered in the best development era.
“Huawei Digital Power’s unique value lies in its long-term R&D investment in digital and power electronics technologies and always putting quality and safety first,” he stated.
Huawei Nigeria CEO disclosed that Justrite, Empower, Powercell and Huawei jointly built the green superstore in Nigeria and West Africa.
“Huawei provides high-quality, high-reliability, and high-security smart PV and energy storage systems solutions, which will help many enterprises greatly reduce the cost of fuel and improve the stability and safety of electricity production,” Lu explained.
Huawei recently announced the launch of a one-fit-all commercial and industrial solution, integrating an optimiser, a smart PV inverter, an energy storage system, and a cloud management system.
With over a decade of experience, Huawei has shipped over one million inverters worldwide, boasting an impressive annual failure rate of less than 0.5 per cent.
According to the technology giant, the smart string energy storage system undergoes rigorous eight-month reliability testing, including extreme and environmental tests, to ensure 100 per cent safety and reliability.
The system features cell-level monitoring, AI-based data analysis, and string-level monitoring and protection, ensuring risky cell identification and rack isolation.
“Huawei always puts safety first, because safety is the guarantee for long-term system operation, the basis for the commercial value of PV and energy storage systems, and the foundation for personal and property safety,” the company stated.
