An actress and sex educator, Destiny Amaka, has said that her involvement in sex education has opened her to more sexual advances.
Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, she stated, “It attracts more sexual and inappropriate advances, but that’s what I’m here for— to change and educate people. Sex does not have to be vulgar or demonised. The more we openly discuss about sex, the more control we will have over the narrative.”
Amaka also stated that despite her involvement in sex education, she cannot act in a sex scene.
Talking about the inspiration behind her sex education podcast, she said, “I classify myself as a sexual health advocate. People in Nigeria and Africa generally should be exposed to sex education and social empowerment.”
Asked if she could stay with a cheating husband, Amaka stated that if that happened, she could only forgive a man she’s married to because of the vows shared before God and if it is not a lifestyle adding, “I can’t stay with a ‘cheating husband.’ women deserve peace of mind too.”
Reliving her experience of featuring in an action movie recently, the actress said, “Action films require more physical and technical strength. It was fun but I went home with bruises every night.”
