New Molde signing and former Enyimba midfielder Daniel Daga has likened his style of play to Tottenham Hotspur’s Yves Bissouma and unassuming French midfielder Ngolo Kante.

Daga joined the Norwegian club from Nigeria National League side FC One Rocket after spending a season and a half with former Nigerian champions, Enyimba to gain topflight experience.

In his first interview with the Norwegian club, Daga revealed that his playing style is heavily influenced by two players.

“I play like Bissouma of Tottenham,” Daga said, describing his style of play.

“About the ball play, I’m like  Bissouma but when it comes to tackling, I tackle like Kante. I like Kanté because of how I cover the pitch.

“I love tackling and air duels and I love to communicate with my teammates,” he added.

The 18-year-old, who has already gained top-flight experience from his time on loan at Enyimba was part of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles squad at the 2023 U-20 World Cup in Argentina, where they reached the quarter-finals.

Molde FK’s Chief Executive Officer, Øystein Neerland, expressed his delight at the arrival of the young talent.

“We are very happy to bring in an exciting and talented player from Nigeria,” Neerland said. “Daniel already has experience from the top division in Nigeria, and he is considered a great talent. We look forward to seeing his development here and helping him take new steps in his career.”
