Nigerian actress and singer, Bisola Aiyeola, has opened up about her early misconceptions about fame and the valuable lessons she has learned in the entertainment industry.
Reflecting on her journey, Aiyeola admitted that she once believed success would come effortlessly. However, she soon realised that patience and perseverance were crucial.
When asked about one thing she wished she knew before joining the industry, Aiyeola told Saturday Beats that she initially believed fame and wealth would come instantly. She said, “I wish I knew that I needed to be patient. When I initially joined, I was a bit entitled. I didn’t think that I had to be patient. I just felt like if people knew me, I would blow automatically. But that didn’t happen. So, I had to be patient, and finally, here we are.”
Speaking on maintaining relationships while setting boundaries, despite being a lovable person with many friends, Aiyeola shared “You have to know yourself, that’s the first thing. When you know yourself, you know the kind of things that you can tolerate. I am an acquaintance to so many people, but my circle is very small. So I always have to protect my peace, protect my energy. And the best way to do that is to know myself. I feel it’s easy to just compartmentalise people and relationships when you know yourself.”
Speaking further on her appearance on the recently premiered KieKie Unscripted Experience, she shared that she was drawn to the show’s unique blend of education, entertainment, and empowerment.
“Everything about it was great. I loved it. I had a swell time on the show. One of my favourite aspects of the show was the live music, it was amazing”, she added.
