Two Higher National Diploma Accountancy students of Federal Polytechnic Ilaro, Ogun State, came third at the final stage of the 2023 edition of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria Accountancy Challenge Nigeria.
A statement by the students said that Oluwasegun Diyan and Nafisat Abdulganiyu jointly came third.
It added that FPI was the only polytechnic on the list of the top nine institutions to qualify for the final round which would be held (physically) in Abuja at a date to be announced by ICAN.
The scores of the winning institutions were Obafemi Awolowo University; 71%, Ahmadu Bello University 64%, University of Lagos; 56%, University of Benin; 56%, Igbinedion University Okada; 56%, Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro; 56%, Nnamdi Azikiwe University; 52 %, University of Maiduguri; 52%, and Benue State University; 52%.
ICAN Accountancy Challenge Nigeria is an intellectual competition being organised by ICAN in conjunction with O.J. Inspiration Limited to promote accountancy education among undergraduates in all ICAN-accredited tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
