The management of Jos Electricity Distribution Company has announced a temporary reduction in load allocation due to limited power supply from the national grid

“We regret to inform you that load shedding has increased since yesterday due to limited power supply allocation from the national grid,” the Head of Corporate Communications for the firm, Saratu Dauda, stated.

The company in a statement obtained by our correspondent on Thursday attributed the constraint to the Ugwuaji-Makurdi 330KV transmission line, which supplies power to its franchise area.

“Our daily allocation has been reduced to 102MW, impacting supply availability to customers across our franchise states of Bauchi, Benue, Plateau, and Gombe,” Dauda explained.

To manage the situation, the company has implemented load shedding across its network.

“We have implemented load shedding across our network, ensuring an equitable distribution of available power,” Dauda said.

The company assured customers that it is working closely with the Transmission Company of Nigeria to resolve the issue.

“Please be assured that we are working closely with the Transmission Company of Nigeria to resolve this issue as soon as possible,” Dauda stated.

The company said it anticipates full power supply restoration once repair works on the faulty 330kV Ugwuaji-Makurdi transmission line 2 are completed.

“We appreciate your understanding and patience during this challenging period. Our commitment to providing you with reliable and efficient service remains unwavering,” Dauda added.
