Kano State Government on Wednesday approved Saturday,  November 2, 2024, as the visiting date for boarding public/private primary and post-primary schools in the state.

Parents and guardians of pupils and students in boarding schools across the state are to visit their wards from 9 am to 5 pm on the stipulated date.

The Director of Public Enlightenment, Kano State Ministry of Education, Balarabe Kiru, who disclosed this on Wednesday, explained, “Saturday, November 2, 2024, has been approved and set aside as a visiting day for all boarding, primary and post-primary schools in the state.”

Also, the statement advised the parents and guardians to ensure total compliance with the rules and regulations governing the visiting period.

The state Commissioner of Education, Umar Doguwa, expressed appreciation to the state government for the usual support and cooperation extended to the ministry, as he wished the students, parents and guardians a successful and hitch-free visiting period.

In July 2024, the state governor, Abba Yusuf, reiterated his administration’s commitment to revive the education sector of the state.

Yusuf gave the assurance while declaring open a two-day Education Recovery Conference held at the Dangote Business School, Bayero University, Kano, with the theme, “Repositioning Education in Kano State: Navigating the Path to Excellence.”

“Our priority is for us to benefit from the wisdom of experts, as well as the determination to chart a new course that no child in this state is left behind.

“We have the political will, but parents, teachers, government and everyone, including the private sector, should roll up their sleeves. On our part, we believe it is achievable,” the governor stated.
