Lagos State Government, on Saturday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with a construction company, Summa Group, to construct the long-awaited Lekki-Epe International Airport.

In a statement on his X handle on Saturday, the state governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, noted that the airport is an essential part of his administration’s vision to improve connectivity in the state and stimulate economic growth, as well as draw in global investments.

The statement read, “We signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the internationally acclaimed construction company, Summa Group, to develop and construct the much-awaited Lekki-Epe International Airport.

“This groundbreaking initiative is an essential part of our vision to improve connectivity in Lagos, stimulate economic growth, and draw in global investments.

“The Lekki-Epe International Airport will facilitate travel and create new opportunities for businesses and residents throughout the state. Lagos leads, always.”

The project is expected to boost infrastructure, ease transportation challenges, and reinforce Lagos’ position as a key economic hub in Africa.
