No fewer than 9,772 new undergraduate students were Thursday matriculated into the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof Razaq Kalilu, announced this during the 2024/2025 matriculation, held at the main campus of the institution in Ogbomoso.

Represented by the Deputy VC (Strategy and Development), Prof Adepoju Ogunkunle, the VC said the “figure (9,772 new undergraduate students) represented qualified students from across 35 states of the federation who scaled screening and registration processes into the various academic programmes in the 13 faculties of the university.”

Kalilu, therefore, admonished the matriculants to be up and doing and be ready to obey rules, laws and regulations of the institution to avoid expulsion.

While informing the students that the university is non-residential, the VC explained that the institution was committed to ensuring that they were secured.

“Security surveillance devices are being deployed to all locations where students reside to monitor activities and situations and discourage undesirable groupings,” he explained.

The VC also implored the matriculating students to be focused on their studies, as he announced a scholarship for a student in the Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Ayoola Olamide, who emerged as the Best 100-level student in the 2023/2024 academic session.
