Lionel Messi, what can we say? The Argentine forward is regarded as one of the best footballers of all time and can do things no other player would dream of doing.

Messi has been at Barcelona since 2000 and was handed his league debut by manager Frank Rijkaard against RCD Espanyol on October 2004. Since then, well, as they say, the rest is history. He has gone on to win seven La Liga titles, three Copa del Rey and three UEFA Champions League titles.

This weekend, Barcelona take on Juventus in the Champions League final in Berlin, which gives Messi the chance to win his fourth European title. And in the build up to the huge game, Squawka managed to catch up with the football genius.

During the interview, Messi was asked which European club he admires. Of course, he didn’t have one answer, but two.

“Pep is doing great things with Bayern Munich and is creating a team similar to the one he had at Barcelona, but with different players, and subtle differences. He is always trying new things, and that is a good thing for the game of football,” said the Argentina international.

“We want strong competition within Europe, so I am happy that Pep is creating another powerhouse of a side that can compete against the La Liga teams.

“Juventus have also done brilliantly this season, and you cannot underrate Italian teams. Italy was dominant in Europe for many years and has had a difficult time recently, but they are showing that they can still compete.”
