Liverpool plans to make one offer to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guéhi.

Guéhi, who turns 25 today, has only one year left on his contract with Palace. Reports say he wants to join Liverpool and has already agreed personal terms with the club. Other teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle are also interested in him.

According to The Sun, Liverpool will offer £40 million for Guéhi. If Palace says no, Liverpool will not make a higher offer.

Palace reportedly wants around £45 million to let their captain leave this summer.

There were rumors that Liverpool might include a player, like Ben Doak, in the deal. But Palace are not interested in a swap—they want only cash so they can use the money to buy new players.

Liverpool recently sold defender Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen for £35 million. Also, Ibrahima Konaté’s future is unclear, as his contract ends next year. Because of this, Liverpool needs to bring in a strong center-back, and Guéhi is one of their top targets
