Wole Abegunde, Managing Director, Meristem Securities Limited, has assured that the company’s partnership with the Durante Polo team will help foster the development of the sport in the country.
Abegunde made this assertion during the official announcement of the partnership between the two organisations.

Last year, Meristem dipped its toes into the world of sports by sponsoring a golf tournament and this year, they have added Polo sports to one of the many sports it intends to grow.
At a media briefing held at the company’s head office in Ikoyi, Meristem officially unveiled its partnership with the Durante Polo team which had in attendance Carl Alakija, Rita Alakija, Ahmadu Umar and Edozie Onwuli from the Durantee Polo Team.
Speaking on the benefits of the partnership, Abegunde said, “Our vision of being the distinct and preferred financial services goes beyond the financial services, we are looking to deliver value to our clients in every way that matters to them.
“As the official sponsor of the Durante Polo team, we will be journeying with them across the country to Ibadan, Fifth Chukker and Kano tournaments.
“This partnership aims to promote community involvement and gender equality, while also empowering local talents and underrepresented minorities who may otherwise lack access to such opportunities.”
