Arsenal duo ruled out of Spurs friendly

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed a double injury blow ahead of the north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur in Hong Kong tomorrow.

The Gunners have won their first two friendlies against AC Milan and Newcastle United and go into the Spurs game as the favourites too.

Ahead of the encounter, Arteta has revealed that Gabriel Magalhaes has yet to fully recover from a hamstring injury and won’t be involved once more.

He added that Riccardo Calafiori won’t be making the game too, having picked up a minor knee injury against Newcastle in Singapore last week.

The Italian has been prone to several short-term injuries in the past, and the manager is unlikely to take any risks with the former Bologna star.

Arsenal are likely to hand debuts to Cristhian Mosquera and Viktor Gyokeres tomorrow. The former could be involved in the first XI.

Gyokeres has had only two training sessions with the team, and he may need more time to find his rhythm. He could make a cameo appearance.
