Arteta on Saliba injury

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided a fresh injury update on William Saliba following the 1-1 Premier League draw against Chelsea on the road on Sunday.

The Gunners went into the game as slight favourites, but could not find a winner despite the Blues playing with 10 men for almost 60 minutes.

Speaking after the stalemate, Arteta was asked about Saliba, who was sidelined for the London derby after picking up a knock in training.

In response, he said: “I don’t know. I think [Wilo] has another test tomorrow to see the extent of that feeling, that sensation that he had, then we’ll know more. With Gabi, there are still some weeks to go.”

The Gunners are still five points clear at the top of the standings, and they must refocus ahead of the midweek league clash against Brentford at home.

Arsenal have a good league record against London clubs overall, and will be aiming to return to winning ways on Wednesday night.
