According to a South publication, The SouthAfrican, Super Eagles defender Olisa Ndah is ready to return to action five months after the defender fractured his leg, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The 27-year-old defender last featured for the Soweto giants in September 2024 during the Buccaneer’s second league game of the season after he fractured his Tibia and Fibula.

Ndah was initially expected to be out for the rest of the season but the Nigerian has been training with Jose Riveiro’s troops recently and bolsters the club’s defence at the ideal time with Thabiso Sesane recently suffering an injury.

“He (Ndah) has done well in the past few weeks and will be ready when selected to play,” the SouthAfrican quoted the club’s spokesperson.

“He is in line to return in the coming matches, possibly this week.”

Ndah’s return will be welcomed news to new Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle, ahead of their World Cup qualifiers in March.

The Eagles will face Rwanda and Zimbabwe in must-win games as they hope to revive their World Cup ambition.

After four rounds of matches in the series, Nigeria are fifth in Group C with just three points having only drawn three and lost one.

To avert the danger of missing out on a consecutive FIFA World Cup, the Eagles must win all their six remaining matches in the group or even hope for favourable results in other ties.
