Nigeria Immigration Service has hiked passport application fees effective September 1, 2025.

NewsOnline Nigeria reports that the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced a sharp increase in the cost of obtaining Nigerian Standard Passports, effective September 1, 2025.

In a statement issued on Thursday by the NIS Public Relations Officer, ACI AS Akinlabi, the revised fees will apply only to applications made within Nigeria.

Under the new structure, the 32-page passport with five-year validity will now cost N100,000, while the 64-page passport with 10-year validity has been pegged at N200,000.

The Service clarified that fees for Nigerians applying from the diaspora remain unchanged at $150 for the 32-page (five years) and $230 for the 64-page (10 years).

NIS explained that the upward review was necessary to maintain the quality, security, and global integrity of the Nigerian passport while ensuring continued access for citizens.
