Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, has been named Udinese’s Player of the Month Award for February.
He was presented with the award before Udinese’s 2-0 loss at home to Torino on Saturday.
In the month under review, Okoye played four Serie A games helped his side to two wins, a draw and one defeat. He also kept two clean sheet against Monza and Juventus – a game he made six saves while conceding twice in Udinese’s 2-0 loss to Genoa.
Okoye who has rediscovered his form since his move to Udinese last summer has kept three clean sheets conceding 18 goals in 13 Serie A appearances for his Italian side this season.
According to Opta, the Nigerian goalkeeper has not committed any error leading to a goal since he became first choice at the club.
With his impressive form, the 24-year-old is expected to be in line for a return to the Eagles, where Stanley Nwabali cemented his place as No 1 after his heroics at the recent Africa Cup of Nations.
