The executions mark the highest number of death sentences carried out in a single day in Pakistan’s history.Â
The convicts, executed in different jails of northeastern Punjab province, were condemned for their involvement in murder, rape, and kidnap for ransom.Â
The executions raised to 92 the total number hanged in the last four months.Â
Pakistan lifted a de-facto ban on capital punishment in December after the Taliban killed more than 150 people in a school in city of Peshawar.Â
