Kano Pillars head coach, Evans Ogenyi, says his team has already shifted focus to their next game after being forced to a 1-1 draw by Wikki Tourists in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on Sunday.

The Sai Masu Gida fell behind early when Ahmad Limado scored for the visitors in the 12th minute, but Umar Sani levelled just before the break at the Sani Abacha Stadium. Ogenyi admitted his side had hoped to begin their winning run but noted that setbacks are part of football.

Elsewhere, Katsina United stunned Plateau United 2-1 in Jos. Sadiq Auwal opened the scoring in the 11th minute before Uche Collins doubled the lead on the hour mark. Hilary Albert pulled one back for Plateau nine minutes later, but the Chanji Boys held on for the win.

In Yenagoa, Bayelsa United climbed to the top of the table with a 2-0 win over newly promoted Barau FC. Magbisa Wisdom broke the deadlock in the 58th minute before Eyong Ofem sealed victory 20 minutes later.

Nasarawa United also recorded their first win of the season, edging Abia Warriors 1-0 in Lafia thanks to an early goal from Leonard Ugochukwu.

Rivers United defeated Kwara United 1-0 in Port Harcourt, with Friday Ubong scoring the only goal. Defending champions Enyimba beat Niger Tornadoes 1-0 in Aba, while El-Kanemi Warriors held Ikorodu City to a goalless draw in Lagos.

Warri Wolves continued their bright start with a 2-0 win over former champions Enugu Rangers at the Warri Township Stadium.

The remaining MatchDay 2 fixture between Kun Khalifat and Remo Stars will be played today in Aba.
