Remini, an AI photo enhancer app, has become the most downloaded AI app, surpassing ChatGPT with a 10 million download gap, according to data from Stocklytics.com.
Remini’s cumulative download tally stands at 219 million, highlighting the high receptive rate for its features, which include unblurring, restoring, and enhancing images, as well as generating AI photos of oneself.
The app’s popularity can be attributed to its ease of use, fast results, and high-quality enhancements, with users praising its ability to transform old photos into stunning high-definition images.
The site’s financial analyst, Edith Reads, commented, “Remini’s dominance in downloads signifies a shift in user priorities and preferences in the AI app market.
“While conversational AI like ChatGPT remains crucial for many applications, there is a clear demand for highly specialized AI tools that offer tangible improvements to everyday digital tasks. “
Remini’s ability to unblur old photos has attracted significant portions of the Chinese audience, eager to transform their portraits into clay sculpture-like images, Stocklytics.com stated.
From April 30 to May 6, 2024, Remini topped the download charts in China, surpassing Douyin Lite and Douyin, TikTok’s sister platforms.
According to data presented by AltIndex.com, ChatGPT is still far from widespread usage, with less than 10 per cent of people who use it daily.
According to YouGov’s survey conducted for the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism in six countries between March and April 2024, only one in ten people use ChatGPT daily.
Even respondents in the youngest age group, aged 18 to 24, said they were not using OpenAI’s chatbot regularly.
Most of them, or 18 per cent, use it every week. Monthly users comprise 12 per cent of all respondents in this age group; 17 per cent said they have used it only once or twice, while 9 per cent claim they use it daily.
That meant 44 per cent of Gen Z-ers had not used ChatGPT even once, the report said. a
