Sterling Bank has collaborated with GFA Technologies, Microsoft, The Garage, and Oando Clean Energy to host the final pitch of the e-mobility innovation hackathon.
Theme: ‘Accelerating Nigerian Talent, Building out Nigeria’s e-Mobility Ecosystem’, the hackathon is aimed at advancing electric vehicle technology in Nigeria.
In a statement, the Head of Mobility and Projects, Renewable Energy at Sterling Bank, Akin Akingbogun, reiterated the bank’s commitment to fostering sustainable energy solutions in the transport sector.
He stated, “Our participation underscores our dedication to driving the adoption of electric vehicles in Nigeria. We believe in promoting innovation and sustainability in transportation, and platforms like the hackathon enable us to explore ground-breaking ideas aligned with our vision.”
The hackathon, organised by GFA Technologies in collaboration with Microsoft, and supported by Sterling Bank and Oando Clean Energy Ltd., empowers start-ups and entrepreneurs with essential skills, resources, and networking opportunities.
According to the organisers, the hackathon offers numerous benefits, including access to corporate partnerships, market expansion opportunities, investor connections, funding avenues, and capacity building in critical business areas.
At the final presentation of the pitch, a panel of judges and experts awarded Trekk Scooters the top prize of N3m, with Helgg securing second place and Celloop coming in third.
According to the organisers, the collaborative effort spotlights Sterling Bank and its partners’ dedication to driving innovation and sustainability in Nigeria’s transportation sector.
