Super Eagles star Ademola Lookman has turned down a move to Serie A champions Napoli, as he looks set to leave Atalanta this summer.

Napoli are in the market for another striker to ease the pressure on Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku, but their approach for Lookman was rejected. According to Soccernet.ng, the 27-year-old winger has his sights set on a switch to Inter Milan.

Inter, 2025 UEFA Champions League finalists, have already tabled a €40 million offer for Lookman and proposed an annual salary of €4.5 million, which could rise to €5 million. Reports from Inter News Italy claim that Lookman has agreed a five-year contract with the Nerazzurri, but the move is currently stalled as Atalanta are holding out for around €50 million.

Napoli reached out to Lookman’s representatives to discuss a potential transfer to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, but the response was negative as the winger remains focused on joining Inter.

Atletico Madrid have also shown interest in the 2024 CAF Player of the Year but have been unsuccessful so far. They are waiting to see if Inter can strike a deal with Atalanta before making another move.

Lookman, who is currently recovering from a calf injury, is expected to push for his release from Atalanta in the coming weeks.

Meanwhile, Napoli are looking to finalise Victor Osimhen’s expected transfer to Galatasaray. Antonio Conte’s side has also been linked with Liverpool striker Darwin Núñez, but the Uruguayan’s price tag is considered too high.
